Our Beliefs

 • Minimal Impact Farming methodologies will reduce the Agri-system footprint and thereby protect vulnerable ecosystems.
 • A shift is needed from animal- to plant-based diets.
 • Off-shore, near-shore & land-based cultivation of seaweeds will all contribute to the success of the seaweed sector.
 • Salt water farming reduces the pressure on scarce fresh water resources.
 • With their excellent nutritional value, seaweeds will contribute to healthier diets.

Our Mission

Earth’s population is growing and is becoming more prosperous, resulting in high pressure on earth’s natural resources. Most of the current farming methods for producing ingredients for e.g. food, pharma and cosmetics have a large negative impact on vulnerable ecosystems. This results in a decline in biodiversity, depletion of fresh water sources and nitrate/phosphate in-balances. Minimal Impact Farming will be part of the solution to protect vulnerable eco-systems AND to provide the world with a sustainable source of plant-based ingredients.

"With a proven technology SeaweedTech will produce & provide industries year-round with a reliable source of high-quality seaweed, thereby supporting the development of the seaweed value chain and a fundamental change towards Minimal Impact Farming."

_______

Technology

SeaweedTech will grow Ulva varieties in land-based systems, using unique technology developed specifically with the help of SeaweedTech´s partner companies such as SEAKURA and PRIVA.

Environmental conditions and nutrient provision will be controlled and finetuned to the specific needs of the seaweed species. Species strains will be selected on base of their protein, vitamin and mineral composition, their maximum growth rates, resilience, and ability to reproduce vegetatively.

Optimal conditions in combination with selecting the best performing species strain ensures a constant high-quality product. SeaweedTech will fulfil with the demanding standards regarding heavy metals and organic and biological pollutants.

SeaweedTech strives to optimize cultivation and product whilst working towards a net zero footprint by means of Minimal Impact Farming, using smart technology to reduce and re-use energy and waste streams.
